The ACTION FOR SKILLS KNOWLEDGE EDUCATION AND WELLNESS CENTER (ASKEDWELL) is entering its 5th year of operation. And there are indications that the philosophy, concept and expanding participation of the different sectors in the society has encouraged the founder and members of the institution together with the volunteer organizations and individuals to prepare for the next three years of existence.

The term of existence of ASKEDWELL CENTER is 50 years from its SEC registration in June 6, 2013, and has passed the  challenging years of defining its spirit of service and operation. The original members of the Board , Chairman Oscar S. Ma PME, Dr. Silvano B, Maranga , founder and President , Mr Vianney D. Garol, Mr.  Mark Wernher P, Maranga, Ms. Michelle M. Cuerquis are actively developing linkages with the end-in -view to increase the reach and strength of results and outcomes to the beneficiaries of the center.

The Center facilities are provided by persons with great intention to help in the development effort of the government. Presently the DOST CEST project has made more expose of ASKEDWELL as part of the projects presentations and seminars of the National Academy of Science and Technology . (see earlier post+

As the center is non-stock non-profit, the leaders of the institution believes in the principle of returning and utilizing all incomes in the achievement of its goals. Our goal is developing marginalized farmers and urban poor families and communities on the respect for life and the no-waste management of a farm. This means that our system of operation is focused on the development of a human being, in both physical, mental and whenever the situation calls for it, the spiritual aspect of life itself.

There are now four (4) copyrighted documents that the founder and author Dr. Silvano B. Maranga, have put forward as part of the guiding principles of the ASKEDWELL center.

NEXT STEPS FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS

1. Plant Kolo in specific areas where the plants are protected from animals preferably in identified rocky areas where other fruit bearing trees can not grow and develop a one-hectare breadfruit plantation

2. Raise African catfish and 100 tilapia fry in the 2500 fish ponds and feed with feeding material developed from trash fish, sea weeds, madre de agua, water cabbage and other waste material such as pigs lungs.

3. The trial run of the  Kolo festival  on September 7, 2017 at the Barangay Bongdo Training Center provided information to the officers of ASKEDWELL CENTER on the details on the procedures on how to conduct a municipal kolo festival with the support of the municipality of Borbon by June 2018  and other communities willing to support the project

4. It is also important to study on the correct procedure of pruning and bending the branches through the use of wires to ensure that the grown kolo will have lower branches for easy harvesting to increase its financial viability

5. Develop a group of students that can do MARKETING of Kolo products.

6. Develop a sample kolo drying facility for the next fruiting season. It is recommended that the drying facility be mobile with plastic covers and the air drying machine be run by solar batteries of the engine of the vehicle as this can increase production

7. Set-up a small milling and packaging center for the dried kolo .

8. Maximize the outcome of the participation of the ASKEDWELL CENTER TO the CVAARRDEC and the convergence with DA, DOST, and CTU-Argao through participation in community-based research with the S&T Innovation Hub.
