Maranga Clan together with the volunteers of ASKEDWELL conducted a soft launching of the DOST XI Community Empowerment Through Science and Technology PROJECT at the ground of the ASKEDWELL center at Purok 2 Barangay Linoan, Montevista, Compostela , Valley, Davao region.  Seedlings of breadfruit will be distributed to the Provincial Offices of DOST XI to be distributed to CEST communities of DOST XI.

area fronting the askedwell center. It is along the highway and the lot and building are owned by Renante Nonoy Maranga which will be utilized for DOST XI AND ASKEDWELL COMMUNITY BASED RESEARCH FOR THE PROPAGATION OF BREADFRUIT

The children of the neighborhood of ASKEDWELL CENTER, are also encouraged to take care of plants and fish. In this video the children are engaged in the project to behave properly during the launching as members of the tribal communities are encouraged to learn and acquire knowledge in the benefits of breadfruit and the marcotting process in breadfruit propagation.

The community- based research on breadfruit propagation has encouraged marginalized communities  , beneficiaries of DOST VII to have a backyard breadfruit seedling and plant in areas that are considered infertile.

The Invitation of DOST XI for ASKEDWELL to participate in the S and T Celebration st SM Lanang, Davao  City July 6,7 and 8 has provided the volunteers more motivation to continue marcotting breadfruit and do research on other methods to propagate breadfruit.

It is envisioned that a hectare of breadfruit plantation is expected to produce fruits 150.000 kilos per year at an average of 1 kilo per fruit and 150 fruits pre tree. The next step after producing a thousand seedlings is to create a breadfruit plantation in all regions in the country.

This will benefit the children of poor and marginalized communities who shall be empowered through science and technology for inclusive growth and development,
